A downloadable project

Our game is about coming up with memories from different photos from the main character who suffers from memory loss. The players will help the patient by providing clues to help the patient regain their memories.

The way our game works is that there would be 2 decks of cards, one with a prompt and the other with photos. Each player takes one card from each deck and tries to explain how the two cards connect to the patient’s past. For example the prompt would be “First summer” and the photo is a snowman, you would say “your first summer was very cold”, kind of like “cards against humanity” where the best story wins. The goal of our game is to have created a story of the patient's life by the end of the game.

The Aesthetic will be similar to a game called “Behind the Frame: the finest scenery”. Where the style is similar to old photo albums and film photos from a worn notebook or old diary. The player is not able to see the entire diary but would be able to decipher the mood from the photographs, this information can be used to fill in the gaps of the story, where the aesthetic is determined primarily by how the photos make the players feel. It can be a lighthearted at first but as players provide more clues, it could go in a more serious and impactful direction. The overall style of the game is on the light-hearted, melancholic and pleasant side, however some photos might lead players to think about the problems that relate to memory loss, and may lead to feelings of regret or sadness, either by the story itself or the fact that those absurd stories may not even be true?
